Today’s Media is Getting Really Old

Watching the mainstream media today will at the least cause you to become nauseous. Since the swearing in of Donald Trump, I have tried several viewing plans to keep the sickening propaganda to a minimum, and it’s no longer working. In January I started out by watching FoxNews for 80% of the time I chose to watch cable news. That went well for the first month, although I quickly got bored by the “Trump Train”. So in February I decided to change to watching CNN 80% of the time.

How insane is the world of cable news? When Shepard Smith of FoxNews reports a story negatively on Trump, the Trump supporters call for his head. Shep trying to objective on a right wing cable network brings out the crazies saying he is a left loving CNN wannabe. Damn, what happened to unbias reporting?

Possibly the worst move I could’ve made. As bad as FoxNews was/is for Trump, CNN is the exact opposite. CNN trips over themselves to bash anything remotely associated with the Trump administration. They take it a step farther than Fox in that the talk show hosts (who claim to be news anchors) will cut off the person they are interviewing if what they say does not fit the message CNN is trying to give. It’s the furthest thing from objective news that is on cable TV. Even Fox will let the guest speak before trying to destroy their point on a subject. Anderson Cooper seems to still be the only semi-objective face on CNN. They are so absorbed with themselves, they still claim to be “The Number One Source of News” even though they rate lower than MSNBC. No doubt after Rachel Maddow’s debacle recently, CNN may jump up a position.

CNN Proves they are Biased

One only needs to change channels between the big three cable news networks to find out which one is the worst in any given story. As the Trump administration continues it’s crackdown on illegal immigration, it’s been covered in depth by all of the MSM, and all of them give their usual bias spin on the topic. What I found interesting was how far CNN went in fulfilling their agenda driven lean to the left.

The video is from YouTube user News Channel

Take notice of the news banner. It’s states “HUNDREDS ARRESTED IN IMMIGRATION RAIDS ACROSS U.S.” This is 100% inaccurate as ICE did not arrest immigrants, they arrested illegal iimigrants, undocumented immigrants. But despite this, CNN is continually misrepresenting the story both in type and when reporting. Their anchors and “expert” pundits all leave off the words that describe the immigrants being “arrested” (detained, deported).

CNN was Unbiased for Almost 5 Minutes on 2/28/2017

For all of 5 minutes CNN was actually non-biased, some could even say leaning right, immediately after President Trump’s joint session speech on 2/28/2017. In fact, Van Jones actually praised Mr. Trump stating “at that moment he became President.” when commenting on a moment in which President Trump acknowledged Mrs. Owen, the US Navy Seal who died during the recent raid in Yemen.

The video is from the CNN YouTube channel.

After this commentary, the entire expert panel seemed to agree and even go further that yes, Mr. Trump is being Presidential, the speech was his best to date. But then the flagships of CNN stepped in to bring the left agenda shoveling network back to the path they’ve been on for years. Jake and Wolf were quick to swoop in and correct this strange concurrence of reporting the news fairly, thank god.

Trump One Ups Obama’s Media War

2/24/2017, the Trump White House barred CNN, L.A. Times, Daily News and a few other media outlets from today’s White House Press gaggle. In their absence Briebart News, One America News Network among others were invited in.

While this is a direct omission from a White House press gaggle in lieu of the daily briefing, it’s not the first time a President avoided or bashed a media outlet. That being said, one must wonder why this is occurring and how large of a restriction of freedom of the press this is.

https://youtu.be/d-OYScYpSy8?list=PLocxNBpousp8C12XCKxgJin314eyhBSNT

Let’s try by first looking at this report by CNN, from the YouTube user TrumpTruthWatch.

Brooke begins by delivering the facts about what is going on. She tries to explain what a press gaggle is, but is slightly off. Brooke states that a gaggle is:

An informal gathering of reporters, print, radio, television coming together to be briefed in this case by the White House. You’ve seen the pictures, lot’s of reporters are included in that.

However, a press gaggle is:

A press gaggle (as distinct from a press conference or press briefing) is an informal briefing by the White House Press Secretary which (as used by press secretaries for the George W. Bush administration) is on the record, but disallows videography.

“Gaggles” historically refer to informal briefings the press secretary conducts with the press pool rather than the entire press corps….they were more or less off the record, and their purpose was mostly to exchange information – the president’s schedule and briefing schedule, from the administration side; heads-up on likely topics or early comment on pressing issues, from the news side…. (from Wikipedia).

So during a press gaggle, far less reporters are present than a daily briefing or a full press conference. So she and CNN are a tad off in this claim.

CNN FAIL – Really CNN? – During Ben Taub Shooting Scare

On 2/22/2017 there was a possible shooting at the Ben Taub hospital in Houston, Texas. Sometime around 3:00pm est the news broke on twitter and shortly after on CNN. At first CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin teased the story while going into a commercial break. When they returned, Brooke had only the helicopter feed from CNN’s affiliate in Houston to work with.

After reciting what the voice in her ear told her to, which lasted about 2 minutes, Brooke added some insightfulness of a crack reporter, and then restated the facts that she just gave 3 minutes ago.

Then, to transition from the breaking news to more “breaking news” of President Trump either visiting the National Museum of African American History or the “breaking news” of the pending new travel ban, she chose this line:

“Now let’s get back to talking about the President.”

Even though I was not watching the television, had it on in the background while doing some home repairs, my head almost exploded. Did I hear her correctly? She just transitioned from a possible shooting at a hospital into the normal non breaking news of bashing the President and actually said that is what they are doing!

Come on CNN, you’re not even trying to hide the fake news spin you are spewing now.

Jake Tapper Crosses the Anchor-Commentator Line

On February 15, 2017 Jake Tapper of CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” crossed the line between news anchor and commentator. While reporting on a statement President Trump gave earlier in the day during a joint press conference with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jake chose to not only comment on the answer, but take large jabs at the President showing two past examples of then candidate Trump’s conspiracy theories he voiced during the campaign.

2017 UC Berkeley Riots MSM Coverage Comparison

The MSM’s coverage of the February 1st, 2017 U.C. Berkeley riots was amazingly small as it was happening. Let’s review the coverage by comparing it on the “big three” cable news outlets.

Fox News was already into it’s prime time lineup when the riots broke out. They had no reporters or cameras on the ground at any point during the event. Here is one of the early segments covering the riots which includes a phone interview with Milo Yiannopoulos.

The News (Media) Today – Part 1

MSM Logos

The “news” today is vastly different than ten, twenty and surely thirty years ago. We are, or should be, lucky to live in an age where we can be instantly updated with the latest news 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by merely turning on the television. Not to mention the internet, smart phones, and social media. We really are at the buffet of information in the internet world. However, we need to look out for the green eggs !
